Jancis Robinson is a British wine writer and critic who rose to fame in the 1980s after becoming the first MW (Master of Wine) from outside the wine trade. She is now one of the wine world's most influential critics, and has been appointed as an advisor of Queen Elizabeth's royal wine cellar.
Robert Parker, Wine Advocate
Robert Parker wrote his first Wine Advocate newsletter in 1978. Four years later he accurately predicted the high quality of Bordeaux's 1982 vintage, and began a meteoric rise to become most powerful wine critic in the world. Today he is no longer involved with Wine Advocate or robertparker.com.
Tim Atkin is a UK-based Master of Wine (MW) and wine journalist with an international following. After training in modern languages at the University of Durham, Atkin soon moved into a career of wine writing.
Beverage Testing Institute (BTI) is a research, review and engagement company formed in the United States in 1981. It created the first international wine competition in that country. The testing of various other categories, including beer, cider, mead, spirits and sake, commenced in 1994.

Wine Spectator is an American magazine specializing in wine industry news and tasting notes. Founded in 1976 by Bob Morrisey, it was purchased by its current owner, Marvin Shanken, three years later. Each year the Wine Spectator 'Top 100 Wines' and 'Wine of the Year' awards are eagerly awaited.
CellarTracker is a web database of wine tasting notes and scores crowd-sourced from the site's many users. Based on a cellar management tool originally designed by former Microsoft software manager Eric LeVine, the site is run from LeVine's Washington home and, by his own admission, the nearby Caffé Fiore.
